Chen Shunguo, 46, is a native of Shrimp Town. He has been doing business for 28 years since he was 18 years old.
"At first I went to the countryside with a basket on my back and collected chilies and went back to Shrimp town to set up a stall to sell them. At that time, foreigners could collect two or three thousand kilograms of peppers at a time and ship them by train." Chen Shunguo recalled.
Later, Chen rented 100 square meters of facade at the farmers' market, earning 40,000 to 50,000 yuan a year. At present, his company leases more than 700 square meters of property in China Pepper City near the exit of Hangzhou-Rui high-speed shrimp station, covering the processing area, trading area, warehouse and office area, handling more than 2,000 tons of peppers every year, driving the development of 60,000 mu of pepper base, including 12,000 mu in Gansu Province.
Mr. Chen is one of two to three hundred local merchants in China's chili City. Every April, Guizhou local pepper has not been listed, fresh pepper from Hainan, Yunnan and other places to pull here, everywhere is filled with the spicy flavor of dried chili.

"The most important role of Pepper City is to cushion and leverage." The Dried Chilli can be stored for more than three years, says Fu Lu, the general manager of Guizhou Jiao Tou Agricultural Industry Development Co., which develops and operates China Pepper City. The 20,000 tons of dried Chilli will serve as a buffer for sudden changes in market demand. Relying on the warehouse receipt pledge and other financial services of pepper City, the peppers stored in the cold warehouse are used as loan collateral and become the leverage for merchants to expand sales and extend the industrial chain.

Guiding County in Qiannan Prefecture is located on a number of railway and highway trunk lines, gathering 13 pepper processing enterprises, including Lao Gan Ma and Buyi girls. Jia Dengping, the person in charge of Luyuan Food factory in Guding County, said that his chili plant is very small, and it consumes 500 pounds of dried chili every day. He started from a small and micro enterprise of the workshop style, and now has a laboratory and ozone disinfection packaging line, and has developed a number of online and offline distributors.
"Through the development of large-scale planting bases, the unification of varieties and seedlings, and the linkage of upper, middle and lower reaches, the pepper industry has blossomed from the point to cluster development, and the ability to innovate and resist risks has been continuously improved." Guiding County deputy county magistrate Zhang Hongling said.
